Birmingham Artsfest 2010

After a hectic summer of great performances, Oya Batucada top it all off with not one but two live sets at this years Artsfest

We’ll be appearing on the main stage in Centenary Square on Saturday the 11th September at 1pm for what promises to be a blistering display of Samba-Reggae, Maracatu and Rio Carnival Style Samba.

Then on Sunday 12th of September we’ll be playing at The Yardbird at 8pm, if it’s anything like last years show we’ll have the crowds dancing in the street to our powerful brasilian beats.

So come and long and join in the fun for free and don’t forget that if you like what you hear, you can come and join our weekly workshops at the Hare & Hounds, Kings Heath.

Oya Batucada had an incredible time performing at this years Liverpool Carnival. It was inspiring to be the the company of such great groups and we can’t wait to do it all again next year. Liverpool Carnival - Saturday 17th July

After a series of blisteringly hot gigs in and around the Midlands, Oya Batucada are heading up to Liverpool for the annual Carnival Parade. It all kicks off in Cambridge Street at 8.30pm, parading around the city and ending at the Chinese Arch.

Artsfest - Sunday 13th September @ Yardbird

After a rain soaked festival of light at the beginning of artsfest last year, this time Oya will be playing a Sunday evening slot at the Yardbird, 7.00pm on 13th September.

Viva Brazil - October 10th @ Hare and Hounds

Viva Brazil is back, so clear your diary, dig out the dancing shoes, and get yourself down to the Hare and Hounds on Saturday 10th October. More line up details to come soon, check out the footage of previous nights to see what you’ve been missing.

Latin American Festival

Oyabatucada played two sets at the Latin American Festival at the weekend (July 5th), in the sun and in the rain!  And we loved it.  Bring on more summer Samba.

Istanbul, Turkey!

 Oyabatucada have been invited to play at a global street artist festival in Istanbul in August.  Artists will be coming from all over the world to perform, and to help the festival raise money for homelessness charities.
